MAPPING
The
Observer and
Sentinel systems can be provided with as much or as little data as the customer requires. Typically the
Observer system will have a custom package of data provided for the end user tailored very specifically to his area of operations and may include detailed mapping down to 1:10K along with house name capability.
Sentinel is designed to be delivered with a wide area of operation capability and is therefore provided with a series of standard packages for the US, Europe and the UK. Other regions can also be accommodated but the aim is where possible to deliver standard aeronautical charting.
The base mapping is in vectored format and provides Jeppesen Aeronautical data (airports, VOR’s, NDBs, controlled airspace etc), which has been merged with a Geographic database of political boundaries, terrain, obstacles, major roads and bodies of water and urban conurbations.
Additional mapping levels are typically raster aviation charts followed by topographical charts and dependant upon configuration, street mapping and vectored street/house database information for individual address searching, street naming and camera point-of-impact lookup functions.

Given the flexibility of the systems to manage many different types of maps, charts and datasets Skyforce offer a complete customisation service for customers. To provide a fully turnkey solution Skyforce will work with the customer and his local mapping agencies as appropriate to compile a full package that meets his local needs.
Typically this process will take 12-15 weeks, it is therefore important that the customer commences work with Skyforce at order point of the system not the final delivery phase.
